These circumstances pressurize the fragile minds and they tend to forget important things that might affect their very examination. There are certain points that one should keep in mind before appearing for their exams.

The Examination Admit Card-

Most of the entrance examinations have an admit card which one has to carry to be allowed to appear for the exam. On the morning of their exam when students are in a hurry, they might forget about carrying the admit card and reach the location without it. When they realize this on the venue, they panic and thus forget the solving criteria they were preparing for all this time.

Make sure you pack your bag the night before your exam. Many have the tendency to laminate their admit card thinking it to be the safest method to preserve it. However, one should not laminate any of the original papers. There might be spaces in the admit card that are to be filled only after entering the examination hall.

In order to be on the safer side, you may put on a transparent cover on the admit card to prevent it from any wear or tear. If you are afraid to lose it then you may as well get multiple photocopied versions of it.

Check On The Stationaries Required-

Be mindful to carry the essential stationaries required for the exams. If you have an exam for which you need to carry a geometry box or any other accessory, make sure you have them in advance. Don’t rely to buy them on the day of examinations from any store near the exam centers. There is no guarantee that the stores might have it or be open at that point. Keep it ready from well before so that you don’t have to panic or worry during the last moment.

Along with the pens, carry sharpened pencils and a ruler as per requirement. Examinations related to biology or geography have questions that need to be answered using relevant diagrams, do not forget about the eraser. Take the colored pencils with you if you have to answer topography sheets. Check if your geometry box is new and all the instruments function properly with accuracy. Use your calculator if it is allowed in the examination. You might not be allowed to borrow accessories once in the exam hall, moreover, it is always better to use your stuff.

Getting Proper Amount Of Sleep- 

Generally, students tend to pull all-nighters before their exam day thinking it will help them to prepare better. But this might backfire and they might eventually end up forgetting the answers. Less amount of sleep may result in less memory retention and the inability to concentrate. Sleeping on time will save you from feeling worked up during the exam.

Avoid too much screen time the night before your exam. Using the phone for longer hours may bar the secretion of melatonin, which is the hormone responsible to help us sleep or wake. This happens due to the blue light emitted from these electronic gadgets. Losing track of your sleep schedule during your exams is not the best possible thing to consider.

Do not miss out on setting an alarm for the next day. Wake up such that you have sufficient time to get ready and reach the venue well before the exam starts without any hassle or skipping any meal.

Drinking-Water And Keeping Hydrated- 

Make sure to keep yourself hydrated by drinking enough water. Dehydration leads to the birth of unclear thinking, loss of energy, body overheating, and inability to focus. It is also the reason for sudden mood swings, fatigue, headaches, and sleep hazards. Keep a bottle of water beside you even while you study and prepare for the exam. Ensure that you drink enough, take a sip after every section of a chapter is covered.

Avoid consuming energy drinks or energy boosters before appearing for your exam. These drinks contain high sugar levels which might make you feel elevated for the first few minutes but eventually drain you for the rest of the day. Instead, aim to drink a healthy 8 glasses of water the day before your exam. This will keep you hydrated and make you feel fresh. You may carry your water bottle to the examination hall as well if allowed.

Reading The Question Paper Carefully-

 Students remain in a hurry to complete their exams. As a result, they might skip important instructions mentioned on the question paper and thus lose marks. Analyzing each question and trying to comprehend them gives a better understanding of the correct answer. Many times, certain questions seem confusing, in such cases, it is best to clarify your doubt from the concerned teacher. In the case of descriptive questions, interpret the meaning and understand what is to be written about.

Read the instructions present in the question paper. See the number of sets if present, and how many questions are to be attempted from each set. If you are provided with options to attempt the questions, check which ones you can answer better and gauge the ones that will fetch you more marks.

Divide your entire time into different segments when writing the paper. Write the ones you are confident about first and provide correct numbering. Do not while away your time looking at others. Do not stress if you are unable to answer a question, be calm and focus on framing your answers. Concentrate and avoid committing silly mistakes in calculations or spellings.
